Garden Standards

The Gardens of remembrance at Mortlake Crematorium are roughly 7 acres and contain; a beautiful rose garden, an avenue of Crab-apple Trees (Malus hopa) around the perimeter, a small grove of Silver Birch (Betula pendula) trees and an area of open grassland. There is also a fine lawn which is mown and striped 40 times a year. Situated in this lawn are three beds where you will find summer bedding displays from around April to October. Finally we have a small secluded courtyard which contains a pond with water lily’s surrounded by white stones.

We aim to continually maintain our gardens to a high standard and to carry out large and small scale improvements to the existing grounds over the next few years. In 2015 all pathways were replaced with a resin bonded service. A beautiful babies and children’s Garden – “Waterbugs and Dragonflies” was created. We also have a small flock of Fantail Doves.

Rose Garden

We are constantly promoting and practicing environmentally sustainable methods such as composting all fallen leaves and cut grass, then using the resulting compost in the grounds to improve the soil condition. Our three gardeners and an apprentice operate to a very high standard and are passionate about making the grounds look their best.
